There are many classes to
choose from. Learn to layer flavours and create blends that are
at the heart of Indian cooking. Time saving techniques and creating
distinct, bursting flavours are the hallmarks of each class. Each
class will cover a full meal and all ingredients and recipe sheets
are provided. There is lots of student participation in the classes
(and lots of fun!) and we eat what we cook at the end of a class.
Booking is essential of walks and classes. Please check availabilty
before sending your booking form.
All classes held in Hounslow West. We meet outside Hounslow West
underground station and go to the local shop to buy some key ingredients
with which to cook. Come back to the Cooking With Monisha Kitchen
which is a 2 minute walk away and enjoy the cookery lesson.

INDIAN BARBEQUE

Get your barbeque sizzling this summer with the heady aroma of
Indian spices and herbs. Learn to make a variety of easy kebabs,
tikkas and vegetable dishes with accompaniments such as chutneys,
salads and relishes that will dazzle your guests and impress your
neighbours!

INDIAN FISH COURSE

With possibly the longest coastline in the whole world, India
has a feast of fish recipes. This class will include the perfect
prawn pulao, fish curry, spicy fried fish and accompaniments to
make a perfect coastal meal.

INDIAN FOOD WALK
Meet at Southall Rail Station.
Join Monisha on this amazing journey through Southall in west
London. Browse through speciality supermarkets and discover unusual
ingredients that you can buy. Walk through the main street, chat
with makers of street food and enjoy tastings of exclusive sweets
and Indian traditional foods (such as ‘paan’, an after
dinner betel leaf, stuffed with spices and rose jam). There will
also be plenty of Bollywood street music and stuff about films,
fashion and culture during the course of the walk!

QUICK INDIAN CURRIES

Learn to cook deliciously easy curries that will make your friends
think that you have spent hours in the kitchen. This class will
give you many tips and ideas for a whole range of different dishes
as you will learn how to make some of the basic curry sauces used
in Indian cooking and how to cook spices to bring out their best.

SOUTH INDIAN COOKING

Imagine the flavours of curry leaves, tamarind and spices all
coming together in a feast straight from south India . Learn to
make fabulous fare from Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Goa that will include
dosa or lentil pancakes, chutneys and fabulous rice dishes.

STARTERS AND STREET FOOD

Indian street food and starters are legendary. Onion bhaji (correctly
known as bhajia) and samosas are almost considered ‘British
fare’ now. This class will show you how to create the sweet,
tangy and spicy flavours of some of India ’s best snacks
which you can serve as starters, canapés or tea time treats
along with the incredible dips and sauces that go with them.

DIWALI FOOD WALK

the corner, learn to make a festive home- cooked meal that you
will never get to eat in a restaurant. Celebrate this magical
festival with Monisha and experience how Diwali is traditionally
celebrated in an Indian home. Festivals in India are celebrated
with vegetarian feasts so learn to make a thali- an assortment
of delicacies incuding a special Diwali sweet.

STYLISH INDIAN IN MINUTES

Learn to cook elegant but easy dishes that will make your parties
feel more glamorous. This class will include both vegetarian and
meat options for a complete meal and will give you many ideas
for future entertaining! Although popular classes such as this
one are repeated, the menu changes each time so each ‘Stylish
Indian in Minutes’ class is unique.

BIRYANI MASTERCLASS

A biryani is a special, festive dish where rice is cooked with
meat, spices, herbs and nuts to create a dish of great flavour,
aroma and taste. In India , there are cooks who specialize in
making a biryani and they are often invited to cook for celebrations
and special occasions. The technique involves slow cooking, layering
of ingredients and infusing herbs and spices which can take a
little time and effort. This class will show you how to make a
stunning chicken biryani with its accompaniments of salad and
spiced yoghurt. We can also make a vegetarian biryani for those
of you who are vegetarian. Please specify on the booking form.
